Porta: New Design

You can purchase the Porta Pullover on the Interweave Website here.

The Design

Last fall I submitted my design idea to knitscene for the Winter 2019 issue featuring designs for wear all week long - from work to play and everything in between. My first design (more on that later!) is the Porta Pullover, an easy drop shoulder tunic sweater with a wide casual cowl neck featuring a lovely leaf lace stitch pattern.

The Construction

Porta is knit in 2 easy pieces and seamed once the front & back have been knit and blocked. Both front & back are knit from the bottom up starting with a 1x1 ribbed hem that transitions into the leaf lace stitch pattern. The sleeves are formed with increases and cast on stitches with a 1x1 ribbed hem to match after the pieces have been seamed together. The wide cowl neck is also worked in 1x1 ribbing to match the rest of the design.

The Yarn

The sample was knit with Quince & Co’s Tern in Seaweed. Tern is a lovely silk & wool blend fingering weight yarn that is perfect for your transitional wardrobe and lends an elegant drape to your knitted projects.

The Pattern

You can access through the pattern through the Interweave Website here and share your project’s progress on ravelry here.

Take a look at the other lovely designs being featured in this issue, I dare you to pick just one!
